Born: 2 June 1916 Wahgunyah, Victoria, Australia. Died: 21 December 1979.
Henry Mitchell received the Military Medal in 1943 for his actions on 23 January 1942 at Vunakanau, New Britain as a motor cycle dispatch rider, carrying messages between the 2/22 Battalion and Area Command. Henry's youngest son, Robert, has written about his father in the book One Bloke's Story.
